Austria2019/20 season opening
Friday 6 December will officially open the winter season of Nassfeld-Passo Pramollo, the largest ski area in Carinthia located just 15 km from Pontebba in the Tarvisio area.

The famous Carinthian resort proposes various novelties for the winter of 2019-20, starting with the renewed artificial snowmaking system and the enlargement of the main slopes which have led to a total investment of around 10 million euros.
In this regard, a new collection basin with a capacity of 110,000 cubic meters of water was created, and new pipelines and automatic pumping stations were installed to increase the capacity of another 300 liters of water per second and 63 latest generation snow cannons were purchased.
On the slope front, as anticipated the surface of the slopes has been increased by adapting the terrain and improving the conditions for skiing. Improvements that also featured the Tressdorfer Alm beginner area, which was expanded and equipped with a new 140-meter-long magic carpet.
Very interesting for freeride enthusiasts is the Eli-Ski service created in collaboration with the Elifriulia partner that will allow groups of at least 10 skiers to make 4 descents on 4 different slopes of the district, enjoying the best fresh snow in the company of the mountain guides who will guarantee full safety of skiing.
As usual there will be numerous events that will characterize the Nassfeld-Passo Pramollo area during the winter season. After the opening on December 6th, Saturday December 14th, music lovers will be able to enjoy the "Nassfeld Mountain Winter Concert" with Nena and her band, at the end of which a spectacular laser show will be held.
For families and children the "Nassfeld Ski Surprise" project is very interesting. It provides free ski passes for all young skiers within this age group, free accommodation (including meals) in the room with parents or grandparents during the periods: 6- 21 December, 6-18 January and 14 March-13 April.
Among the events not to be missed is the Schlag das Ass, the longest ski race in the world that will allow skiers to launch the gauntlet to the ski champions, first of all the former Austrian international Armin Assinger.
In short, a winter full of events just a few kilometers from the Italian border.
