We went to see the show for you "Ski and Design", which he exhibited in Turin until November 2, then moved to Sestriere and Bardonecchia in December and January. This is an event included in the official program of "Torino World Design Capital 2008". The headquarters is at the local section of CAI in the National Museum of the Mountain "Duca degli Abruzzi" Mount of the Capuchins.
The idea behind the exhibition is the design in the world of winter sports, viewed through the products of manufacturers of skis, boots and safety systems.

The visitor is immediately greeted by a long parade of skis from 1900 to today: nothing original, but it's always fun to see old patterns of over two meters of wood, the mythical Lacroix, the original Fischer RC4con the hole (a cornerstone in the design of sports).
At the end of the parade is a video projected period of evolution in the snow and then welcomes us to a bored Carabiniere a stand dedicated to safety on the track and off piste.
The second and final corridor routes us on a journey between brands of skis and boots: Nordica, Tecnica, Dynafit, Schuetz (a brand that produces elite ski and snowboard handmade by ingenious craftsmen), ... ; The exhibition is closed by an object more or less curious and a map of Sestriere ski. Into the complex was a missed opportunity, where the logo and the brochures were clearly better than their content. Unfortunately we have to criticize that some sports shops displaying design items related to the mountain far more interesting. In this year's Design Capital, Turin has hosted exhibitions of exceptional quality, "Olivetti, a good society", "Afterville", "Dream" ... We think this ski will not be long remembered .
If you have recently visited the National Museum of the Mountain, you can skip it without suffering. But if you've never visited, then you should take a leap on the Monte dei Cappuccini because it is a really interesting for people with mountains like us.
The museum is dated 1874, but its small space has been completely reorganized in 2005 and the result is very good. The rooms devoted to reportage Mario Piacenza by his travels in Ladakh in 1913 are delightful elegance. But the succession of a room and the other is an amazing poem on the mountain and its fans: Sunday by travelers to the conquerors of 8000 meters, by whom wears windbreakers of the latest fashion for those who climbed to the peaks beginning of the century with unlikely wool sweaters.
