Prowinter 2019, the world of Rent in Montagna meets at Fiera Bolzano

The first fragrances of spring have officially opened the tail of winter 2018-2019. A cold season that will have a precise goal: Prowinter 2019. The "trade" fair dedicated to the winter sports business, now in its 19th edition, is scheduled at Fiera Bolzano from 9 to 11 April 2019.

The whole world of snow will meet in the South Tyrolean capital to photograph the 2018/19 winter season but the main focus of the event will be, as always, the rental. "The growth of rental realities throughout the Italian mountains - commented Vera Pöhl, Exhibition Manager of Prowinter - confirms the goodness of our choice to be a national reference point for the analysis and development of this phenomenon". The precise strategy of the South Tyrolean fair is the key to the success of the event: "The rental today involves almost 60% of ski enthusiasts, a phenomenon that cannot therefore be underestimated and that requires careful study" concludes Vera Pöhl. The study to which the Prowinter Exhibition Manager refers is the research conducted by Prowinter Lab, the observatory for the rental promoted by Fiera Bolzano in 2017, and which, thanks to the coordination of Alfredo Tradati, in 2018, gave birth to the first Ski Rental Summit. "The rental has taken a very specific direction, as witnessed by an exponential growth in the past winters - emphasizes Tradati - and it is important that charterers, producers, installers and tour operators create increasingly frequent channels of dialogue to give life to a quality development of the mountain tourism and for this reason the Ski Rental Summit in 2019 will live its second edition ». The Prowinter Lab data highlighted how, in winter 2017-2018, by now over 50% of skiers on Italian territory take advantage of the rental service. "This figure is supported by the exponential growth in the number of rental structures - says Tradati - and the Italian territorial reality presented 851 subjects last winter, even though we have evidence that the number is growing sharply. No turning back ". Furthermore, the Prowinter Lab study specifies that the structures present are organized as follows: 43% operate exclusively for the purpose of rental, 42% of the equipment is sold alongside the sale of equipment while the remaining 15% is differentiated as a rental organized by ski schools or other operators. The numbers of Prowinter Lab therefore make it possible to have an expressive snapshot of what the economy that revolves around the business of winter sports is today. An economy that has found in the rental a new channel and that moved last winter, data estimated by Prowinter Lab, over 100,000 pairs of skis. If we consider that in total, the skis sold in Italy, were 177,000 (FESI data) it is even more evident that the rental requires a wide-ranging comparison that does not consider only charterers and suppliers as interlocutors. In fact, the rental is among the parameters that contribute to the evaluation of a tourist experience: it is therefore necessary to create a shared system among all the protagonists involved, including installers, tour operators, hoteliers and professionals, to guarantee a good offer user. The mountain at 360 degrees Prowinter's appointment, however, will not only be centered on the theme of the rental, since at the fair more than 200 producers and distributors will meet every year to meet over 6,000 potential customers from all over Italy, including rental professionals, installers, tour operators and professionals. The fair offers three days of meetings, opportunities for exchange and above all a festive setting to round off the winter season. Moreover, through the Startup Village, ample space will be dedicated to the innovations that will distinguish the future of winter sports and which will reward companies from all over Europe. Finally, as every year, Prowinter will be the occasion to examine the season from a competitive point of view, accepting numerous awards for elite athletes (who will play the World Championships in their disciplines) as well as young promises and, of course, new ski instructors .
