Prowinter launches the new appointment at the January fair with 120 exhibitors and the "Retail Awards".

With the Prowinter livestreaming press conference, the countdown has started which in less than a month will bring the B2B world of winter sports to meet in the pavilions of Fiera Bolzano for the XXIII edition of the exhibition event.

Thomas Mur, Director of Fiera Bolzano, did the honors: «Let's start from the assumption that the international scenario has radically changed: the global market for raw materials has influenced the entire production chain of equipment, accessories and clothing, and the manufacturing companies had to reorganize the processing and distribution times. As a result, shops and rentals have also been forced to reschedule their orders. On the basis of this new panorama, Prowinter has made the decision to double its commitment and position the first of the two appointments on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 January: «The target of visitors will, as usual, be the rental of winter sports items, but with a strong expansion towards retail, i.e. shopkeepers who want to preview the collections of the 2023/24 season» concludes Mur. In April 2023 the second appointment with Prowinter Season Finale: a day of meetings at the end of the season with awards and meetings between operators, athletes and end consumers, and of course the presence of sector companies. The feedback from the snow brands that will take part in the fair was positive; Corrado Macciò, President of Pool Sci Italia, spoke on their behalf: «We are happy to be able to return to Fiera Bolzano in style. Most of the companies in the Pool Sci Italia will be present under the aegis of the consortium and we strongly believe in the new format promoted by Prowinter. Bringing the dates of the fair forward to January means having understood the new needs of the market which has seen a shift of axis and dynamics. Prowinter will increasingly become the reference fair for the all-round B2B mountain market». The rental sector also confirms its participation in Prowinter and does so with Stefano Patella, Rent Manager  of Decathlon Italia: «The Decathlon Rent  season has started very well, both in our stores and with our affiliated partners. Prowinter represents an excellent opportunity to meet all operators and professionals in the sector and expand our network. The days will make it possible to take stock of the situation at a strategic moment in the ski season, as well as to experience next year's news first-hand". But the real novelty of the 2023 edition of Prowinter will be the Prowinter Award "Retail", an award dedicated to exhibitors that will reward the most innovative, salable and aesthetically performing ski and boot of the 2023/24 collection proposed by the candidate companies. The success of this first edition of the Prowinter Award "Retail" was told by Elio Bottero, President of the jury, alongside the former skier Verena Stuffer, the entrepreneur in large-scale sports distribution Alessandro Monti, the designer specialized in sports industrial design Manuel Bottazzo and the journalist with great expertise in the field of fashion and sport Giovanni Audiffredi. “We have received over 20 applications and are very satisfied with the finalist products we have identified. The evaluation criteria we used took into account four key elements: design, innovation, marketability and storytelling. Among the finalists for the ski category we have chosen: Rossignol, Blizzard and Kästle. For the boots category, Salomon, K2 and Lange will compete for the first Prowinter Award "Retail"».
