World titles are up for grabs and there is fresh snow on the Swiss slopes for the FWT 2021 final this weekend.

The last stop on the Freeride World Tour is the 25th anniversary edition of Xtreme Verbier on the iconic descent of Bec des Rosses. The mountain reaches 3,223 meters and offers a descent of 650 meters.
Xtreme Verbier was supposed to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2020, but Covid-19 meant that the event was canceled. Finally this year the long-awaited competition will take place in the time window between 20 and 28 March, even if this Saturday it is already known that there will not be the conditions to kick off the competition.
There are higher probabilities for the days of Sunday and Monday.
The battle for the titles
In the running for the title of Freeride World Tour champion there are 10 men and five women in the ski sector, 5 men and 4 women in the snowboard sector. Favorite contenders include Ross Tester (USA, ski men), Hedvig Wessel (Norway, ski women), Blake Moller (USA, men snowboard) and Marion Haerty (France, women snowboard). Local Switzerland Elisabeth Gerritzen (ski women) knows the mountain and the conditions well and may have some surprises in store.
