After a season a little uncertain our compatriot Silvia Bertagna, 31 year-old from Val Gardena, won the Big Air World Cup with yesterday's race in Canada.

The race took place in a rather unusual and spectacular setting, a 40m jump in snow taken in the heart of the city of Quebec City.
It was a mix of luck and skill: our compatriot was fifth in the general classification and had to make a good race and count on some mistakes of the opponents. Exactly what happened.
Chilean Dominique Ohaco looked like the favorite but needed at least a third place to secure the title. He closed fourth instead opening the doors to ours, which with the second place yesterday (174.00 points) has managed to win the crystal ball.
Bertagna is thus the first Italian ever to win the coveted title.
"I still can not believe it - said the Italian - is incredible. I was absolutely not thinking about the title, I was just focused on today's stage. This season was not the best for me, considering also the exclusion from the Olympics. This is my revenge! "
In the men's category the challenge was scorching between the Norwegian Christian Nummedal and the Swiss Elias Ambuehl, who came to the match on equal points (129). Nummedal was able to take advantage of the opportunity to take home stage and world title with 189 points overall, while the Swiss has unfortunately fallen wasting his last chance and thus giving the title to the opponent. According to Hugo Burval (182.40) and third the Canadian Teal Harle (182.00).
