The Forni di Sopra ski area consists of a multitude of ski slopes capable of satisfying the needs of both expert skiers and beginners. Along the slopes of Mount Varmost there is the longest ski slope in the whole of Friuli Venezia Giulia, while the Davost side is the perfect place for beginners.
In addition to alpine skiing, Forni di Sopra offers a spectacular cross-country skiing track, which winds for about 13km along the bed of the Tagliamento river (the longest watercourse in the Region) and which plunges between clearings and pine forests. that create a landscape to say the least fairytale. There are also numerous tracks for ski mountaineering, a very suggestive discipline that on some days it is possible to practice even at night, being illuminated only by the rays of the moon.
However, Forni di Sopra is a real corner of paradise for families. The little ones can have fun in complete safety by carrying out descents with sleds, or venture into the Fantasy Snow Park where among the various dedicated paths there is also the descent with rubber dinghies, and from this year you can also have fun on skates in the new ice rink.
To make this town even more magical there are the breathtaking views of the Friulian Dolomites, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009 and which, thanks to the homonymous Natural Park, can be explored with educational and naturalistic excursions for all ages. The Wildlife Area is also very interesting, where you can get close to wild animals such as deer, foxes, lynxes and eagle owls, immersed in their natural environment.
Among the many extra-ski activities present in Forni di Sopra, we highlight: the approach to cross-country skiing and biathlon, ski mountaineering excursions, walks with snowshoes at high altitude or at night or thematic and food and wine, while for children are present with games and activities with the ski instructors. Many of these activities are free or discounted through the FVG card, as well as various tourist packages have already been structured so as not to miss every single opportunity offered by Forni di Sopra.
