There is a place in Friuli Venezia Giulia where it is possible to combine three passions: trekking, immersing oneself in the nature of the Carnic Pre-Alps mountains, flying, observing the green Friulian plain from a hang glider or paraglider up to the Adriatic sea, and last but not least good food, savoring the authentic flavors of the typical products of the valleys of the Pordenone area. Together with Danilo Callegari, a well-known extreme adventurer, we walked the entire path n.819 which leads from the Sot Mont di Meduno area to Monte Valinis. A not particularly demanding path that in an hour and a half walk allows you to immerse yourself completely in the nature of the Julian Pre-Alps until you reach the top of the mountain from where you can admire a breathtaking panorama with a view of the entire Friuli plain and the neighboring mountains.
Once at the top, together with Flyve's friends, we literally "flew" downstream aboard a two-seater hang glider. An adrenaline-filled experience not to be missed, which allows you to enjoy a 360 ° view of the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, from the Adriatic Sea to the Friulian Dolomites, glimpsing most of the beds of the Tagliamento, Meduna and Cellina rivers.
Once in the valley we went back to the top again, this time by car, following the paved road that leads from the square of Meduno to the top and here we stopped at the Valinis Refuge, an enchanting place where you can taste the typical products of the Pordenone valleys in a family environment where the passion for the mountains and for flying come together in a completely original unicum, very much appreciated especially outside the national borders. The Refuge is in fact one of the symbolic places of hang gliding and paragliding, so much so that the "Spring Meeting" international hang gliding event annually attracts hundreds of participants from all over Europe.
The refuge, upon reservation, however, offers everyone the opportunity to make tourist flights in hang gliding or paragliding accompanied by the experienced Flyve pilots, ready to convey to tourists all their passion for flying.
In short, if you want to combine three different passions without going too far, the Valinis Refuge in Meduno is the place for you.
