The Advanced Mountain Kit is a breathable, foldable, warm and light layered system that guarantees athletes maximum freedom of movement in extreme mountain contexts, without compromising on protection.
The progress made in the field of fabrics and materials, the ongoing climate change and the continuous progress of human performance have given rise to a growing demand for greater innovation in products designed for high-altitude shipments. The North Face responded by creating a team of athletes, designers and innovators with the aim of creating a highly sophisticated mountaineering system.
Developed in full collaboration with climbers such as David Göttler, Hervé Barmasse and Andres Marin, the Advanced Mountain Kit includes every layer necessary for the greatest protagonists of mountaineering to get to the top.
Composed of 21 elements designed to act in an integrated way, the Advanced Mountain Kit is characterized by an extraordinary innovation, new technologies, a unique structure of its kind and a high performance level.
"As a brand that has always been driven by innovation and commitment to the development of products capable of pushing the limits of exploration further and further, we want to make available to athletes, through the Advanced Mountain Kit, the tools necessary to climbing faster and more effectively in the most extreme conditions, â€explains Scott Mellin, Global General Manager of Mountain Sports at The North Face. "Inspired by the motto" Tested by athletes, tested by expeditions ", we have concentrated all our efforts in developing this kit, putting the needs of the athletes first."
"The Advanced Mountain Kit revolutionizes the way climbers face their challenges and move at high altitudes," said professional climber Andres Marin of The North Face.
"Thanks to the use of high quality materials, new technologies and an extremely innovative structure, this incredibly light system is the most functional that I have ever used, ideal from base camp to the top."
In the development of this layered system, The North Face has exploited the features of its most recent novelty, FUTURELIGHT â„¢ which has been joined by 4 new proprietary technologies:
Cloud Down: optimal thermal performance and maximum lightness for this asymmetrical construction with compartmentalized structure for maximum containment of the goose down while keeping the lining in close contact with the skin for optimal heat. 50/50 Down: 50 / 50 Down represents a totally renewed approach to the concept of thermal insulation, providing truly breathable down padding. The compartment structure for the containment of the feather and the external air permeable fabric give life to a layer of breathable feather with less space. This construction allows excess heat and sweat to be expelled, for improved temperature regulation during aerobic activities in extreme environments. FutureFleece: with FutureFleece, every detail counts in order to create a technical and light layer equipped with a fabric with a structure equipped with octagonal yarns with hollow cross sections for maximum thermal performance. This feature makes this layer extremely thin, warm and soft, for optimal comfort even after many hours in extreme conditions.Dot Fleece: this base layer works together with the athlete pushing the sweat outwards thanks to the internal water-repellent yarns, while the hydrophilic outer yarn pushes it into the holes through the layer, thus ensuring the wearer to stay dry. FUTURELIGHT â„¢ Technology: the most advanced waterproof and breathable technology proposed by the brand. For the first, an absolute air permeability is combined with a waterproof membrane. This new nanofiber structure has allowed us to create the lightest and most breathable membrane ever. An ultra-thin, flexible and comfortable fabric that guarantees the necessary weather protection in the most hostile environments.
The innovation of the Advanced Mountain Kit was also recognized on the occasion of the 2020 edition of ISPO: the L3 Pullover Hoodie Summit has in fact won the ISPO AWARD as Product of the year.
