A base camp in the Alps, the Himalayas taste with Gore-Tex Experience Tour

The initiative of the competition is to involve eight skiers selected via Facebook to an experience that is as close as possible to what happens in professional expeditions in the Himalayas, in a base camp built as close to those prepared of 8000 meters, called Expedition Camp.

This field is a real base camp designed by professional mountain guides with Ralf Dujmovits and Hajo Netzer to live all the emotions and feelings of an expedition organized simulated on the Stubai Glacier 40 km south-west of Innsbruck (AUT).

This is a great chance for lucky eight skiers selected, you will be able to test and improve their skills and get field experience as if it were really high altitude. A special invitation for a program studied in detail, a faithful reproduction compared to the 3000 meters in the Alps and all the steps related to an escalation of great intensity, concentrated 10 to 14 June 2011.

A real challenge for five days without acclimatization, under the guidance of experienced expedition leader, the German Ralf Dujmovits, already on top of all fourteen 8000, many times with his wife, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, and Hajo Netzer, trainer with four high-altitude medicine behind 8000.

Nominations are collected at the official page on Facebook GORE-TEX Outdoor Products: The proposal is aimed at all those ambitious climbers who have reached 16 years, with minimum experience.
Just fill out a form with their data and get their friends to vote, the Gore team will then choose the winners from among the subjects most votes.
