Ski test 2019/20: Head queen in the allround, its the two Gold Medal!

This year, the Austrian company wins the all-round sector with their hands, with the award "Chosen by the testers" for both the all-round performance and the surrounding tourism. Let's look at the peculiarities of each model in the Head range.

Thanks to the idea of uniting the structure of the i.Speed Pro with the more touristic sidecuts of the i.Race, Head has obtained a ski that was the best in its class in handling, comfort, impulse in the change of edge and in medium-wide curves. The ski is a high-level multi-purpose tool, manages to be stable but not to excessively tire the skier, manages to be manageable without sinning in precision. Thanks to the sidecut the ski runs well without fatigue, it is very intuitive especially in the p first part of the curve, while the closure is really easy to handle. The structure in fact gives an excellent elastic response, helps the skier and favors him at every stage of the curve. After a few years of absence, the Head Supershape i.Magnum returns to our tests and takes the title of Gold Winner among the "Chosen by Testers" skis in the all-around category. The skiing is exceptional, it is appreciated in practically all the fields, on all the snows and in the different bows. It is sensational how this ski always manages to stay the same, evolving in small points and improving more and more, going where few tourist skis can get. The Head technicians are able to present a ski that is always easy, intuitive, less tiring, beautiful in medium and narrow bows after each update. The ski is in fact suitable for driving safely in medium and wide spans, at medium-high speeds, resulting also very stable in the entrance curve, revealing itself perfect for the evolved tourist. In this case we can say that there are virtually no defects, it is able to cover a range of skiers that goes from level 4 advanced up to level 6/7, offering to those who want progress in the management by choosing a tool to keep over time. Another proposal for the all-round Head is the Supershape i.Speed, a ski that is very close to a multi-purpose ski and also performing, well-fitting under the foot, with excellent stability and well structured. It is not too impulsive at the end of the curve and this simplifies the management of the curve, confirming the all-round vocation of the tool. Head presents the Kore range at the Neveitalia Freeride tests, divided into Kore 99 for the all-mountain freeride and the Kore 105 for pure freeride. The strength of the Kore 99 is its lightness which makes it agile and easy to handle, although not intuitive at first descents . The ski also performs well on the track and keeps its speed well, is oriented towards ski mountaineering, where lightness is its winning weapon. Agility, maneuverability and responsiveness make the Kore 99 a versatile ski in all conditions and on all types of snow. The Kore 105 confirms to be very performing and manageable on transformed, blown snow, with a spring crust and firn: all the types of snow that are usually difficult turn out to be the ideal terrain for the Kore 105. It has a rigid structure and responds well to commands: it is stable and precise thanks to the Graphene and requires a skier with trained legs to be able to manage it especially during the corner change phase.
