MPS, the protection system for the Giro helmets

It's called MPS, Multi Impact Protection System, the system developed by Giro, one of the most advanced companies in the technical development of ski helmets, to reduce the energy transmitted to the head and neck during multi-directional impacts.

The MIPS system is a step ahead of all the classic helmets protection systems currently on the market. There are three components of the MIPS system: the foam lining, the low-friction lining and the polymer elastics that connect the two covers. During a multi-directional impact, the elastics allow the two caps to rotate independently of each other (the outer one rotates in the direction of the impact, the inner one rotates in the opposite direction), in order to drastically reduce the rotational forces and avoid neck and head problems. A helmet with MPS system therefore protects from a type of impact where the helmets without this system are deficient or even non-protective.
