Ski BootsBoot
Ski Boot CLA is a measuring instrument developed by the Cabra Design company, which allows to detect the tibial conformation through the very precise reading of the angles of the lower limbs. In this way it is possible to adjust, without errors and with objective data, the inclination or canting of the ski boot.

History of the project In the early eighties the first Canting adjustment mechanisms appear on ski boots. The device that we present today allows you to adjust the lateral angle of the boot both inwards and outwards.
This adjustment is essential as it allows skier of any level to have better control of the ski both in terms of cornering and speed control. It also determines a better general comfort during skiing on the joints (knees, back, ankles, ect. Ect.) And a lower energy expenditure during the day on skis.
The crucial aspect of this adjustment is based on two main concepts: why to do it and how to do it. The why has already been said above, how to do it is instead an obscure point.
The boot manufacturers have never given precise indications, but have limited themselves to a generic "loosen the adjustment screws, perform a series of bends on the ankles, retighten the screws".
In fact it does not work, but above all, by doing so, the natural morphology of the skier's leg is not taken into account, a fundamental aspect still neglected. Hence the need to first measure the angle of the legs with respect to the horizontal plane, in the second analysis measure the angle of inclination of the boot, finally adjust and remeasure the angle of the boot so that it is as close as possible at the natural angle of the leg.
The device that allows for this measurement of the leg angle did not actually exist, and therefore after an analysis of the market both at European and international level where it was ascertained the non-existence of such instruments, it was decided to start the development first prototype of CLA ski boot (June 2010), a second prototype in the following months (October 2010) up to the current version (December 2010).
The device is composed of a structure that acts as a base, of aluminum profiles that allow the movements of the moving parts, a digital protractor, and two laser pointers.
Ski Boot CLA PRO / WC, on the other hand, is the new instrument that measures the angle of the legs and the measurement of the canting of the ski boot in an automatic way, supported by software created specifically for this need. It is equipped with an HD camera for image processing and image acquisition and processing systems.
