Rossignol's new ski boot construction technology

Massimo Ramella, Product Manager Rossignol, shows us the novelties presented to ISPO 2017 by the French brand with regard to boots.

On the Race Hero shoe there is an absolute novelty in how to build the boot: the coinjection. At the same time, the same material time is injected simultaneously into two different hardnesses and a hull is created with a sandwich where on the outside there are harder plastics and the softer plastic interior. This is an important technology for the first time applied to the construction of a boot, and its real advantage is that it can be modulated depending on the shoe that is available, and above all the dynamic shoe response is much better than the past. To make an example, it works like a golf ball, whose outer part has more rigid plastic and the softer inner material, the rigid transmits all the energy to the soft one, which in turn pushes it to send the farther away; Here is the same thing: the shoe is pressed with a pressure and then the same pressure return that has been applied. The whole Hero line has new graphics, the 130 has two 97 and 100 plants as well as the 110. A peculiarity of the graphics is that on the left shoe there is HERO s on the right side ROSSIGNOL. The new technology is seen especially in the shoe split. The two colors distinguish the two materials: white is of stiffer material and the softer red. In coinjection, the materials are injected into five points almost simultaneously by creating the sandwich mentioned above. Of course the thicknesses and where injected more or less material are already pre-determined by research and development so as to have the shoe compliant with the regulations. There is more support in the back of the knee and sole of the shoe that is the one that transmits the impulse, where no coinjection is needed, there is only the soft material for the entry into the shoe. In the back there are three injection points and two in the soles. This technology combines two very important things: the shoe structure is new and different in support of it and the shoe is much more anatomical than the past as the inner shoe is already preformed, it has an anatomical shape above all In the part of the malleol that does not change, the rest of the shoe is modified with thermoforming, which can be done with a regular stove, and the shoe adheres perfectly to the new anatomical shape of the shoe. Also great for Pure Pro Hit women's boots from the Pure line, which have the peculiarity of having the shoe with thermoregulation: you can see it by the two + and + buttons at the top. After a great study of heat-retaining materials, the merinos wool is the best material from that point of view and it's just the merinos wool that is present inside the shoe, thus satisfying the need for the woman to have the foot hotter. The batteries are inside, they can not be removed but there is a USB port for charging them.
