Recon, the new 1650g K2 boot promises performance from a sports shoe

For the winter 2018/2019 he is making the new K2 Recon boot (LUV in the female version). The American brand, which in Italy is best known for its Freeride skis, has presented a new line of boots for the track and the All Mountain world. The new Recon have been proposed to be the lightest performing boots on the market but hide technological innovations that we want to analyze together.

The low weight makes the new Recon incredibly agile and fast, while with the versions of the boot with high flex we can make high-speed sports curves with maximum control of the ski. At the test the Recon boots were also appreciated for their excellent sealing characteristics during skiing, with a robust and progressive flex K2 designed the boot with a mixture of thermo-polyurethane (TPU) of four plastic materials optimized in different parts of the boot. For example, the instep has a soft plastic to facilitate the fit, the lower part of the hull, highlighted with a color of the different plastic, is the stiffer part of the shoe, along with the back of the cuff. The upper part of the hull is thermoformable and allows you to maintain a good comfort of the shoe on your feet throughout the day. The K2 Recon 120 and the female dual LUV 100 are also available with the thermo-adjustable liner, with the possibility of regulating the heat emission during the day.
