Kristian Ghedina is a symbol of Cortina and the assignment of the Winter Olympics, seventy years after the first time, was experienced by the most successful downhill skier in the history of the Azzurri, at least until the last triumphant season that allowed Dominik Paris to overtake him, really with great emphasis.

"I was lucky enough to win here at my home in the World Cup and the Kitzbuehel downhill run, as well as participating in five Olympic Games, but I assure you that the emotion for this success was stronger than any of my victories - it has confessed the "Ghedo" after the verdict of Lausanne - I didn't feel it so much in the previous hours, but when I approached the X hour, the adrenaline came up and when I heard Milan-Cortina ... it really was incredible ".
Ghedina is very active in the organization of the Cortina 2021 alpine skiing world championships and is sure: "Most of the work has already been done and we will be ready for a big event, but there is no doubt that everyone will now work even more enthusiastically knowing that that, five years later, there will also be the Olympics â€.
The mayor of Cortina d'Ampezzo, Gianpietro Ghedina, toasted not only in Lausanne but ... diving into Lake Geneva. Then, in cold weather, he analyzed what will be needed to get to the top of the 2026 Games: "We will have the approval of the tracks with 5 years in advance and the advantage of having done most of the work is obvious. The double opening ceremony? There are some suggestive visions and the possible combination with that of San Siro, but we are still in a phase of study â€.
The mayor emphasizes the issue of traffic: "There are projects ready and with an estimated cost of 230 million euros. Some will leave shortly and will be operational for the 2021 World Cup, others will be completed by 2023, with a ring road in Cortina and San Vito. The main node, however, is represented by the improvement of traffic leaving the motorway, that is from Belluno to Cortina â€.
Finally the bobsleigh track, which should cost around 50 million: "I believe that the works will begin in 2020-2021, two years will be needed and then test descents will be needed to get all the approvals. We look forward to being ready for 2023 ".
