The controversy continues around the Bob track in Cortina which was the flagship of the Italian candidacy for the 2026 Games.

After the changes to the project and the exposures to the Superintendency, the petition of the inhabitants of Cortina now arrives against the reconstruction of the track.
As reported by ANSA, this is a letter-appeal signed by 1,185 citizens of Cortina D''Ampezzo addressed to the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, who will be in Rome tomorrow for the delivery of the gold collars to CONI.
The initiative is of the "Cortina Civic Committee" and the request contained in the text is to force the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Cortina and the Milano-Cortina 2026 Foundation to renounce the construction of the bobsleigh track in Cortina d''Ampezzo because "unsustainable in economic and environmental aspects.".
In the Corriere del Veneto, the president of the committee Marina Menardi explains: "The bobsleigh track is now an emblem that testifies how the principles that inspire the organization of the Olympics, social, economic and environmental sustainability, can also be forced against the evidence facts and common sense. The IOC is against the work, but the political arrogance and arrogance of the national sports leaders are embarrassing him.
