In the quarter-finals, Fontana advances with a test of authority in the lead from the first to the last meter while the Korean Choi eliminates herself with a fall and the Chinese Zhang is advanced only for being damaged.
Arianna Valcepina also qualified second in a quarter-final where a Canadian carom from which only Kim Boutin is saved while the innocent Chinese Fan is at the expense. A false start eliminates, however, Martina Valcepina.
In the first semifinal Fontana provides a show of strength with an overtaking on the outside on the Canadian Kim Boutin one lap and a half from the end and wins while the Canadian qualifies for the final at the photo finish against the Russian Seregina while Arianna Valcepina is fifth. In the second the Dutch Schulting and the Chinese Zhang advance and the Belgian Desmet is advanced by decision of the jury.
Arianna Fontana starts on the rope of the final after a false start by Kim Boutin but falls after a contact with the Dutch Schouting; all to be redone and this time Schouting manages to pass but Arianna does not give up and attacks the bell of the last lap for the Gold medal that repeats that of 2018.
In the men's 1000 meters Pietro Sighel comes out in the quarter-finals when two laps from the end while going to the attack of the second position there is a contact with the blade of the Korean Park with a fall of both.
