Hofer praised the excellent work of Vittozzi and Wierer: “The girls made us dream, my race, on the other hand, started uphill and I struggled on skis, taking everything behind me even shooting. The new Olympic champions, the brothers Tarjei and Johannes Boe, Tiril Eckhoff and Marte Roeiseland, experienced a swing race, with the three-time World Cup winner deciding in the final stage.
