The Ice Ribbon of Beijing crowns the Swedish Nils Van der Poel who sets a world record on the day of Davide Ghiotto's Bronze medal and Michele Malfatti's ninth place.

It is the Dutch Patrick Roest, disappointed Silver in the 5000 meters who set the best time (12.44.59) in the first part of the competition session, dragging the blue Michele Malfatti, who stops the chronometers on 13.01.42, an improvement of 11 seconds over the staff established in Stavanger this season.
