Beijing 2022 for alpine skiing means Yanqing and Olympic slopes of a completely new area, but which offers tracks that, according to the reports arrived in recent days, are decidedly challenging.
The calendar of the Games for the queen discipline proposes eleven races like in PyeongChang 2018, with the classic opening dedicated to jet men. Even before the inaugural ceremony, here are the tests of the men's downhill, at 4.00 Italian time (11.00 local time) on Thursday 3 February, as well as on Friday 4 and Saturday 5, with the race scheduled at the same time on the morning of Sunday 6.
Monday 7th here is the female giant, with many blue dreams and a competition that promises to be of the highest level, with Mikaela Shiffrin defending her title starting at 3.15, when the first heat will be staged, followed by the second at 6.45. Tuesday 8 February will be men's super-g time, again at 4.00, with the women who will compete in the slalom on Wednesday 9 (3.15-6.45), the same day in which the men will compete (weather permitting) a further downhill test in a combined perspective on Thursday 10, scheduled with descent at 3.30 and slalom at 7.15.
Another race on Friday 11 with the women's super-g, scheduled at 4.00, then the first day without official appointments, but Saturday 12 will be a first test of the descent, again as regards the girls (on the track at 4.00), very important given that it should mark Sofia Goggia's attempt to play “her” match. Sunday 13th, second round and the male giant with Luca De Aliprandini to challenge Marco Odermatt, with the first heat at 3.15 and the second at 6.45.
On Monday 14 the last women's downhill test scheduled 24 hours later, Tuesday 15 at 4.00. Wednesday 16 continues with the women's sector for further training in a combined key (at 3.30), but above all with the men's slalom which will begin at 3.15 (1st heat), before the 2nd from 6.45.
Thursday 17 the combined women (3.30 the descent, 7.00 the slalom heat), finally Saturday 19 the team event, with the final knockout phase that will start at 4.00.
