The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, received from Michela Moioli and Giacomo Bertagnolli the flag carried high by the Azzurri at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Malagò: "Even more commitment and desire to do for Milan-Cortina 2026".

A ceremony to return the tricolor, at the Quirinale Palace, and a special day for the Italian athletes medalized at the recent Beijing 2022 Games.
President Sergio Mattarella received, from the hands of the Azzurri representatives at the Olympics and Paralympics staged between February and March, namely Michela Moioli and Giacomo Bertagnolli who paraded in the two opening ceremonies, that flag that the national team made shine taking home 24 medals overall.
Almost all of them were in Rome, sporting commitments permitting (such as Amos Mosaner, for example, in Las Vegas for the men's curling World Cup), with the number 1 of CONI, Giovanni Malagò, and the President of the Paralympic committee, Luca Pancalli , who have already launched the four-year period that will lead to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games. Malagò underlined that the Beijing expedition "was the second most successful expedition ever, with the weight of the women's movement and the great satisfaction for the multidisciplinarity demonstrated by our athletes. For Milan-Cortina, we will put even more effort and desire to do in our Olympics ”.
“I reiterate to all the congratulations for the successes achieved - the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella - You have honored our flag with your commitment and results. Every morning I observed only the column of the medal complex, because it is the one that gives the idea of the whole movement; Arianna Fontana has become the most medal winner in history at the Winter Olympic Games, Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner have obtained a historic gold medal in a discipline that is not practiced but which I have followed with great interest.
And again Giacomo Bertagnolli and his guide Andrea Ravelli, Sofia Goggia to whom I reiterated my compliments, capable of a great performance just twenty days after the accident. It went beyond all hope, a silver that is worth gold. And again Federica Brignone, who matched the Olympic medals to the super-g World Cup, but more generally I would like to remind you all for what you have done. Milan-Cortina will be a very important commitment and a goal to be lived at the highest possible level, to mark the recovery of the values that the Olympics and Paralympics indicate, even in these difficult times ".
Michela Moioli "replaced" Sofia Goggia as standard-bearer, last February 4, then returning from China with another Olympic medal, or silver in the team event together with Omar Visintin. “It was an honor to be the standard bearer of this team, for an intense Olympics, full of difficulties, but faced with commitment, determination and resilience.
In the most difficult moments, we felt the affection of Italy also from the other side of the world. Milan-Cortina will be the Olympics for all Italians, to still give great emotions ".
