The terrible crisis of Tandrevold, the declarations of the norge house and the decision: the Olympics are over

Yesterday the collapse in the Pursuit, when a very important bronze was about to arrive for the young norge, who announced her return home today at the conference. "Having had heart problems in the past we need to be careful."

The Olympic Games are over for Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, the unlucky protagonist of a women's Pursuit competition that gave a shocking finish in the fight for the bronze, while Mars Roeiseland was flying towards another title and Elvira Oeberg quiet with the silver. One step away from her first individual medal, the 25-year-old Norwegian collapsed in the last kilometer, suffering a frightening crisis that caused fear for her health as well, considering the previous ones. Tandrevold, today at a press conference, announced the return home, thus skipping the relay (it is a very heavy absence in the norge squadron) and mass start. "I am 25 years old and many opportunities ahead, having had heart problems in the past, we have to be careful". A real shame, after having signed a striking 19 out of 20 shooting, before Tandrevold was hit by the problems that have already conditioned her several times in the events at altitude. The Norwegian, third in that instant and headed for the podium, practically stopped and bent over her legs, with her great friend Tiril Eckhoff who went to conquer the bronze in her place. More with pride and the desire to finish the test, given the capital importance of the event, the young Scandinavian barely dragged herself along the long final straight. A disturbing and disturbing scene, but above all difficult to comment on. Overcome by many athletes, Ingrid collapsed on the finish line in front of the eyes of Marte Roeiseland, her teammate, very good at rescuing her. “Suddenly in front of these situations everything stops, but Ingrid has received excellent help from the staff, she is standing, nodding and enjoying a Coca Cola”, added the multiple Olympic champion immediately after the race at NRK. Tandrevold had already had heart problems, but the national team doctor reassured this, while Liv Grete Skjelbreid wanted to release some more in-depth details to NRK: “The problem is the low pressure, the air becomes thinner and it's terrible what happened, difficult to describe; Ingrid was completely empty ”. Not a new situation for Tandrevold who had a blackout in the sprint a few days ago after the last standing shooting session. This case had arisen a couple of years ago in Anterselva, where the athlete was forced to retire, and the coincidence lies precisely in the fact that both locations are at a certain altitude (between 1600 and 1700 meters), which Tandrevold tends to suffer.
