"Nadia Delago shamed in a shameful way, I confirm what has been said about Goggia": Ninna Quario's thought

In the columns of "Il Giornale", before Brignone won her second medal in these Olympic Games, the journalist returned to the controversy arising from her statements to Radio Capital. "I will face the consequences of never having prostrated myself at Sofia Goggia's feet: I just hope it doesn't happen to my daughter, it would be unfair".

With the bronze brought home today in combined, Federica Brignone became the third Italian woman in alpine skiing to win at least three Olympic medals, like Deborah Compagnoni and Isolde Kostner before her. If in today's post-race, the La Salle champion preferred not to comment on what happened in the last few days with the various statements made by herself regarding the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games and by her mother, the journalist Ninna Quario, on the relationship with Sofia Goggia and not only that, just the words released to "Radio Capital" by the former blue slalomist are still discussing. The same columnist of the "Corriere della Sera", Massimo Gramellini, spoke on the subject in his space today. And this morning, in the columns of "Il Giornale" for which she works, Ninna Quario clarified her point on what was expressed. Reiterating every word, essentially, and adding more. "For the second time in my long career as a ski journalist (I wrote the first piece for this Giornale in November 1986 from the snows of Sestriere) I implied that an injury to Sofia Goggia was not really that serious, if after 40 days (last year) and 23 this time, she was ready to face a downhill race (after three days of tests, it goes without saying) with jumps and curves at 130 per hour - she writes in the newspaper - I sprinkle my head with ashes. I humbly apologize. The problem is that until yesterday I had always considered her a skier like any other, with unique and rare skills, of course, but all in all human. I was wrong. But perhaps it is the sense of the word serious that escaped me and at this point we will have to find a new adjective to define the injuries of athletes (the list would be very long unfortunately, I avoid it but it also includes Sofia for injuries in the past) which later to a bad fall they return after six months if all goes well, more often after a year, and when they return they have a hell of a hard time I don't mean to win races or medals, but more simply to ski as before, trusting 100% . Not to mention those who just don't come back. I reiterate my apologies and I think that the real miracle Sofia did it by managing to get up immediately after the terrifying fall of Cortina, with the diagnosis that we all know by now. Where is the problem then? It lies in the fact that my terrible faults, my mistrust is presented as the externalization or worse the outburst of the "mother of Brignone". This no, I do not accept it and I also turn the boxes a bit. What does it has to do with it? As I wrote above, I do this job and I have specialized in alpine skiing and winter sports since 1986, the year in which I retired from competition after 12 seasons in the national team and nine in the world cup, at a good level I would say, but this is irrelevant. 1974-2022: I have been living off skis and mastic skis for 48 years now, would you like to give me a little expertise and experience in the sector? I grant it to myself and I also tell you that in 1986 when I started writing (at the dawn of the Tomb era, what a year!) Federica not only wasn't born yet, but she wasn't even in my thoughts. Later, when she was born and started skiing, it was not in my thoughts or even in hers that she would become a champion, that she reached the World Cup and found herself in front of a “different” journalist, her mother. A disaster. For her, for me, I assure you. But what was I supposed to do, invent a new job? In hindsight yes, I should have. Another serious mistake to repent of. Well, the very long preamble to say that I think I can afford an opinion on the absurd situation I experienced yesterday after the double Italian medal in the Olympic descent: silver Goggia and bronze Nadia Delago (you have to specify the name, because the Delago are two, let's not forget it ). And my opinion is that he exaggerated, before, during and above all after in making Sofia Goggia pass as the heroine of the two worlds (we are in China, aren't we?), Shamefully and unfairly tarnishing not only the company of his podium partner Nadia, but also of all the other athletes who had competed in Beijing and perhaps won medals. I also dared to say that the Goggia is self-centered. Yes, I repeat it and I challenge anyone to prove the contrary to me, ready to provide several examples to corroborate my thesis. I give you only the last one in chronological order: doesn't a person seem egocentric to you who calls home many hours after the race not to share his joy and pride but to find out what reactions to his medal have been in Italy? I reiterate my apologies if I have offended someone, but I also confirm everything I said (to Radio Capital), unfortunately resumed, emphasized and commented, often in an offensive way, as it is now lawful to do especially on social media, without even having to put your face on it. . I am ready to face the "serious" (yes, they will be) consequences of never having bowed down at Sofia Goggia's feet. I just hope that my daughter is not paying the consequences: it would be really unfair ”.
