It is Germany that jumped to the top of the Beijing 2022 medal table, at the end of the fifth day of these Olympic Games, the first without satisfactions for Italy.
The Germans, for their part, climbed to 5 golds and 3 silvers, thanks to the sled double with Wendl-Arlt in front of fellow countrymen Eggert-Benecken, and Vinzenz Geiger's feat in the Nordic combined race from Normal Hill. The other races of the day saw Norway rise to 4 golds (with 10 total medals) thanks to Birk Ruud triumph in the freeski big air final, while Sweden remained stuck in their poker after Sara Hector lost in the last doors of the women's slalom a huge chance for an encore, with Slovakia entering the medal table thanks to the seal of its star, Petra Vlhova.
And then South Korea which is unlocked with Hwang emperor of 1500 meters in the short track, with Lindsey Jacobellis who in turn gives the first gold to the United States (at an altitude of 5 silvers ...) taking the crown of women's snowboard cross .
On the other hand, eight titles are available on Thursday 10 February: we will start very early with a lot of meat on the fire, since at 2.30 am Italian (9.30 am local time) there will be the show of the free program for the men's individual figure skating competition. At 13.00 the return on the ice of Francesca Lollobrigida, to play her chances on the 5000 speed skating, with the last title of the day to be awarded on the gut of Yanqing from 14.30, starting time of the team relay race for sledding, with Italy in full emergency (without the Fischnaller cousins) but with medal chances.
