A newcomer four years ago, a few months after the transition from wheels to ice, the thirty-year-old American interrupts the orange strip for women in Beijing 2022.

Erin Jackson, qualified for the Games thanks to the spot granted to her by her teammate Brittany Bowe, then fished out, is the surprise winner of the women's 500 meters with a time of 37.04. The silver medal, the second after 1500 meters goes to the Japanese Miho Takagi (37.12) while the reigning world champion over distance, the Russian Angelina Golikova, has to settle for third place with a time of 37.21.
In the men's Team Pursuit qualifiers, Davide Ghiotto, Andrea Giovannini, Michele Malfatti and Alessio Trentini set the seventh fastest time with 3.42.04 while they enter the semifinals in Norway, the United States, Russia and the Netherlands.
