Speed skating and short track, 23 titles to be awarded with Italy awaiting protagonist: the calendar

From 5 to 19 February, a very rich calendar for the ice aces at the Beijing Games. Francesca Lollobrigida and Arianna Fontana aim for more medals.

The Beijing Oval will host fourteen Olympic speed skating races, with the start expected already with a very interesting race for the blue colors, or the 3000 women where Francesca Lollobrigida will go hunting for her first five-hoop medal. Appointment on Saturday 5th February from 9.30 Italian (16.30 local), with the men involved in the 5000 on Sunday 6, again from 9.30 for the final phase. The 1500 women will be staged on Monday 7 (9.30), the male ones the next day from 11.30. A day off and then under with the 5000 women on February 10, from 13.00, followed on Friday 11 by the men 10000 (away at 9.00). The women's pursuit team follows, Saturday 12 February with semifinals from 7.30, while on the same day there will be the men's 500 from 10.00. Sunday 13 (3.00 pm) the 500 women, then Tuesday 15 February the men's team pursuit test, with semifinals starting at 8.00. The 1000 women are scheduled for Thursday 17 February from 9.30, finally the 1000 men the following day, at the same time, and closing with the mass start, Saturday 19 February with the men on the ice from 8.00 and the women from 10.00. NINE SHORT TRACK TITLES Many blue dreams, as has become tradition, even for short track races. The first of the nine titles at stake, that of the mixed relay scheduled for Saturday 5 February from 12.20, with Arianna Fontana who will begin her defense of the title on 500 meters with the heats on the same day, before the finals scheduled for Monday 7 February from 12.30. The men's 1000s will open with the heats again on February 5th, but with finals on the 7th from 12.45 pm, with the 1500s scheduled for Wednesday 9 February from 12.00, anticipated by the women's 1000 heats, with finals on February 11 from 12.00. Double final on Sunday 13 February, with the men's 500 (from 12.00), who will have their heats two days earlier, and the women's relay from 12.30, with its journey started with the heats on 9 February. It closes on February 16, with the 1500 women from 12.30, and the men's relay (semifinals on February 11) which includes the finals from 13.30.
