A fabulous fifth place in the dance test, for the second best blue placement in the discipline at the Olympic Games, twenty years after the bronze obtained in Salt Lake City by Barbara Fusar Poli (who trains them!) And Maurizio Margaglio.
Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri gave emotions in the free program that decided a very high level race for them, after the 10th place in PyeongChang 2018: seventh after the short, the blue couple was able to gain two positions with the fifth score partial to reach a total of 207.05 points. In front of them, only the France of Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, favorites for the title and able to conquer the Olympic gold with the world record of 226.98 points, beating the Russians Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov by over 6 pt , with US pairs Hubbell-Donohue and Chock-Bates in third and fourth place respectively.
For figure skating, it was also an important day for the awaited decision on the doping case (dating back to the national championships at the end of December) which involved the 15-year-old Kamila Valieva: the TAS issued a sentence in some sensational ways, revoking the suspension for the very young Russian, driving force in the team event won by her national team, and who will therefore be able to compete from tomorrow in the individual race where she is the main favorite.
Attention, however, given that the Lausanne court, which met in an extraordinary session in Beijing, has not communicated anything about the possible retroactive disqualification that could also exist, also endangering the Russian gold medal in the team event.

E' cominciato nella località cilena il camp degli uomini jet della nazionale maschile guidata da coach Galli, per una prima settimana certamente particolare nel ricordo di Matteo Franzoso. Sulle stesse nevi hanno incrociato gli azzurri anche i big del gruppo CdM dello skicross.
