Never before in history. The Italy of curling dreams with the mixed doubles formed by Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner, the only couple still undefeated in Beijing 2022. After the successes against the United States and Switzerland, the Azzurri manage to regulate, in the third match of the round robin, a high-level team like Norway (11-8 the final score), and then sign the poker in a match without history against the Czech Republic, already closed at the sixth end at 10-2. The dream of the semifinals is much closer, even if the road is still long: the next two matches on Saturday are fundamental, at 7.05 am Italian time against Australia, then at 13.05 with Great Britain as the opponent. Good news also arrives from the opening of the Olympic program regarding figure skating: Italy is fifth after the first three short programs of the team event, with Daniel Grassl excellent at his Olympic debut in the individual test, before the masterpiece in dance by Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri, with the third score that brings the blue team to the virtual podium. Less well in the pairs Nicole Della Monica and Matteo Guarise, with the national team thus falling to fifth place (while in front there is a great fight between the superpowers China, Russia, United States and Japan), the last useful to participate in the program free. To remain in that position, the test that will see Lara Naki Gutmann engaged on Sunday in the women's individual is decisive.
