The cross-country skiing program in Zhangjaikou will end with the women's 30 km mass start: Therese Johaug will try to end her adventure in Beijing 2022 as she had started, that is, with a gold in skiathlon. Tomorrow, Sunday 20 February, the last day of competitions of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, the women's 30 km will be staged, with a mass start. The race time has been brought forward by three hours (it will start at 4.00 Italian time, 11.00 local time) due to the intense cold that has been raging over the Chinese town for days.
The must-have favorite is the Norwegian Therese Johaug, who has already won two individual gold medals in these Chinese Games, who is very likely to play the last Olympic race of her career tomorrow; the '88 class will start with bib number 2. Spotlights also on the Russian Natalia Nepryaeva (1), leader of the CdM classification, silver in the inaugural skiathlon; number 3 for a disappointing so far Ebba Andersson, still dry of medals at the individual level. With the 4th it will be up to the American Jessie Diggins, bibs 5 and 6 for the Finnish Krista Parmakoski (silver at Pyeonchang 2018) and Kerttu Niskanen, also looking for a medal.
Russian Tatiana Sorina (7) is also worth keeping an eye on, as is Rosie Brennan (8); Teresa Stadlober (9) will also look for a good result, while Tiril Weng (10) will look for the first medal in Beijing 2022, as well as her sister Lotta (18). Absent Frida Karlsson, who decided to leave the Games, very negative for her, after the 4x5 km relay.
Italy will be at the start with four athletes: number 26 for Anna Comarella, while with bibs 45, 46 and 47 Cristina Pittin, Caterina Ganz and Martina Di Centa will compete.
