Jason Lamy-Chappuis was considered the favorite for the role of the eve of the French flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Committee in Paris and did not arrive surprises.

The nordic combined, 27, was the most popular name in the list of five nominees announced last September 24 as athlete from palmares richer in absolute and especially one of the quintet to have already won an Olympic gold medal.
The choice was made by a group of four people consisting of Denis Masseglia (Chairman of the French Olympic Committee), Jean-Luc Rouge (Vice-Chairman of the committee), Isabelle Severino (Co-Chair of the Committee of high-level athletes) and Luc Tardif (Deputy Head of Mission of France in Russia and president of the French federation of ice hockey).
The quartet has eliminated before Martin Fourcade and Jean-Baptiste Grange, so he preferred Lamy-Chappuis to Brian Joubert and Ophelie David.
"I am very honored, it is a great responsibility and I will do my best. Anyway we will all be united in Sochi, like a big family," said hot-Lamy-Chappuis.
Jason Lamy-Chappuis is the second cominatista history to act as standard-bearer for France. So far the only'' was Fabrice Guy in 1992. Listed below are all the standard-bearer in France at the Olympic Winter Games.
