The first of the three stages of the very classic ski mountaineering, also valid as a long distance World Championship, sees the blue couple burn their great French rivals.

A spectacular start for Italy in ski mountaineering, which gives itself a splendid success, the one obtained by Matteo Eydallin and Davide Magnini in the first of the three stages of the Millet Tour du Rutor Extreme 2022, in the Aosta Valley mountains of Arvier, La Thuile and Valgrisenche , for the classic appointment also valid as a long distance World Championship.
The host from Valle d'Aosta and Trentino, a couple of the last hour formed due to the absence of Michele Boscacci, arrived at the finish line after finishing the route from La Thuile to Les Suches up to Punta Millet, with an advantage of only 3 seconds on the French William Bon Mardion and Xavier Gachet. Third place for the other transalpine couple formed by Samuel Equy and Matheo Jacquemod at 7 ”. Fourths Robert Antonioli and Nadir Maguet with 4''09 ”late, while Alex Oberbacher and Henri Aymonod noni finished the top ten, with Filippo Beccari and Martin Stofner tenths.
In the women's field, domination of the day for the French Axelle Mollaret and Emily Harrop, who preceded the blue Alba De Silvestro and Giulia Murada by 3 '' 54 ", second in front of the Slovakian Marianna Jagiercikowa and Iwona Januszyk (+ 14 '' 43 "). At home Italy also the fourth place of Mara Martini and Ilaria Veronese, followed by Elena Nicolini and Giulia Compagnoni in sixth place.
