VIDEO - Damiano Lenzi and Jakob Herrmann challenge each other on the Bischofshofen trampoline

An unprecedented challenge, in a notorious parterre, that took place on Sunday, 6th January, on the 140m of the Austrian Bischofshofen trampoline, on the occasion of the final stage of the Vierschanzentournee.

It is in fact one of the most prestigious and followed ski jumping competitions, together with the World Cup and the Olympics. A historical tour that is held annually from winter 1952-1953 and includes two events in Germany (Oberstdorf and Garmisch) and as many in Austria (Innsbruck and Bischofshofen). It is no coincidence, therefore, that the final on Sunday has attracted as many as 15,000 paying spectators, who were able to watch over the jump from the trampoline, to an unprecedented challenge of ski mountaineering Up & Down between the Ski mountaineering World Champion 2017 the 'blue Damiano Lenzi (CSE and Team Dynafit) and Jakob Hermann, spearhead of the Austrian national team. The two challenged for the first time on the impressive slopes of the K 125 (more than 32 °) landing strip going up the runway from the base of the Sepp Brandl-Skistation to the tooth of the trampoline and then, after a turn of buoy , launch into an equally steep downhill for a total of about three minutes. This time it was a non-competitive demonstration of the athletic and technical content of ski mountaineering "stylized a trampoline", but is this a launching pad for a new type of race? What is certain is that, amazed and amazed, the two athletes have certainly managed to light and impress the entire audience of the Bischofshofen stadium.
