The cross-country skiing season in the Aosta Valley can begin. From today the Region has also become the orange zone for the government and today the President of the Region, Erik Lavevaz, signed the ordinance for the reopening "without prejudice to the measures provided for by the Dpcm December 3, 2020". "Outdoor sports activities are allowed at sports facilities, centers and clubs, including Nordic ski slopes" with a distance of two meters and without using the changing rooms.

There are few places that so far have sufficient snow conditions to start the season, in the photos the preparatory work today in the Gressoney valley.
Cogne will open the 2.5-kilometer loop starting from 8 December, a three-kilometer track is expected to open in Gressoney-Saint-Jean from 9 December, which will become 8 kilometers from 12 December; in Torgnon it will be possible to ski from 12 December on the 3-kilometer ring.
This was remembered by the Associazione Valdostana Bodies of Cross-Country Ski Runs-Avef, chaired by Fabrizio Lombard, who explains how from Friday 11 December the slopes of the three locations will be open only and exclusively for the athletes of the ski clubs affiliated with Asiva they will be able to access after booking the training session with the piste manager.
In the meantime, the Avef board will develop guidelines and protocols for the reopening to all fans of narrow skis, who will be able to return to cross-country skiing from Saturday 12 December, after contacting the manager who will communicate any restrictions.
The foyers will remain closed, except for the toilets; only in the next few days will the issues relating to rentals and lessons with ski instructors be clarified. Moving between municipalities is only allowed for residents in the Aosta Valley.
"This decision - Lombard explains - stems from the desire to restart gradually, without immediately creating gatherings, almost inevitable because at the moment the kilometers of tracks available are still few. We cannot afford to have hundreds of cross-country skiers on two kilometers of track. we continue to work on the guidelines and we are preparing to manage a greater influx of people as soon as the snow allows us to open more slopes and locations ".
