The `` Moonlight Classic Alpe di Siusi '' is back: more than four hundred participants expected

After an edition skipped due to the pandemic, the snows at the foot of the Sciliar are once again protagonists. The night race will be staged on the evening of January 20, 2022; participants can choose between the 15 km and the 30 km route.

The Alpe di Siusi is ready to light up again: on Thursday 20 January 2022, the `` Moonlight Classic Alpe di Siusi '' returns, after two years, a cross-country ski race, where more than four hundred participants are expected, coming from all of Europe. The atmosphere of this event is something fantastic: torches that illuminate the splendid landscape of the Alpe di Siusi, with the Sciliar in the background, making one of the most popular races in Europe even more breathtaking. The departure is set for 8 pm, as previously mentioned, the athletes will be able to choose between the 15 km route and the longer one of 30: both routes do not have too demanding differences in height, to allow all participants to enjoy themselves to the fullest. the beauty of the race. For those who undertake the route along the test, it will start from the Compatsch plain, after which it will climb towards the Goldknopf `` Punta d''oro '' (2030 m) and then descend towards the Spitzbuehl, before the last kilometers towards Compatsch, where the finish line will be set. Those who choose the short route, on the other hand, will have to enter a ring in the direction of the Ritsch hut and continue to Wolfsbuehl, and then return to the route towards the finish, welcomed by the classic camapanacci and boys dressed in traditional clothes. To certify the importance and beauty of the race is the massive presence of Norwegian cross-country skiing enthusiasts and practitioners, who have followed in the footsteps of the athletes of their national team, who for years have chosen the slopes of the Alpe di Siusi to play rallies and trainings, thanks to the splendid slopes that the South Tyrolean resort offers.
