San Candido (BZ), 22 November 2021 - An elegant and authentic refuge for the peace of the senses, protected by the dense forest and with a special panoramic view of the Sesto Dolomites. The Naturhotel Leitlhof is the ideal place for those who want to spend a holiday in contact with nature and respecting the environment, without sacrificing comfort and high-level services. A stone's throw from the center of San Candido, but surrounded by untouched nature, the 4 * S of the Muhlmann family offers its guests a weekly program of guided excursions, to discover the most evocative corners of the 3 Peaks Dolomites area and beyond. Snowshoeing and outings on foot or on skis to regenerate body and mind, which combine sporting activity with the pleasure of a pampering of well-being and a food and wine proposal designed to be in harmony with nature.
Located within the Fanes - Senes - Braies Natural Park, in the setting of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Naturhotel Leitlhof is an excellent starting point for adventures in the snow and not only suitable for both beginners and more experienced hikers. In fact, during the winter season, the structure offers a weekly program of excursions and provides two expert guides. Numerous and varied itineraries have been chosen, including the "Ciaspolata Prato Piazza - Monte Specie", an easy route within the Natural Park which in 8.6 km and a limited height difference of only 335 m reaches the summit of Monte Specie (2.307 m) offering a splendid unique view of the Dolomite peaks, with the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the Val di Landro. Starting from Monte Versciaco, however, the excursion to the Chapel of San Silvestro combines nature, architecture and culture in a tour of about 8.5 km that crosses the San Silvestro Valley to the small church with frescoes attributable to the School of Painting of Bressanone around 1450. Or, panoramic and very pleasant, the snowshoe hike that connects San Candido, the Bagni di San Candido (ancient thermal baths of the Val Pusteria that went into ruin before the Great War) and the Rifugio del Gigante Baranci: a simple itinerary among snowy woods that leads to the famous refuge on the mountain of the same name for a genuine breakfast or lunch; from here it is possible to descend using the chairlift that leads directly to the center of San Candido, proceed along a variant of the path that takes you back to the starting point in about 1 hour or continue the walk to the Maier Kaser hut (500 m difference in altitude) . These are just some of the trips offered weekly by the Naturhotel Leitlhof to which is also added a special ski walk with an expert instructor which includes an initial stop near the hotel, with a visit to the state-of-the-art thermoelectric power plant which guarantees the energy self-sufficiency of the structure, to continue the tour through the slopes of the area.
The Naturhotel Leitlhof is located a stone's throw from the modern 3 Peaks Dolomites area which includes a total of 150 km of slopes, between Monte Baranci and Monte Elmo, sledging and cross-country skiing tracks, exciting routes for ski mountaineers of all age. An area full of services and suitable for any type of skier, from families with children to the most experienced and daring black lovers, easily reachable directly from the hotel with the convenient shuttle provided by the hotel.
And after the outdoor activity? The Spa Alpin of the Naturhotel Leitlhof is an enveloping refuge for body and soul made with natural materials and designed for relaxation in harmony with nature: from the outdoor pool it heats with a view of Mount Baranci, to the sauna with a view, from the Turkish bath, to the relaxation area and numerous treatments based on sustainable ingredients. While the nourishment for the body also passes through the genuine and tasty cuisine of chef Markus Auer, who prefers seasonal, regional and even zero-kilometer products, to be enjoyed in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the typical Stube made of stone pine.
