Cervino Cinemountain, XII Festival of Mountain Cinematography

The Festival of Europe's highest goal of the cuts the XIIth edition and continue on the line with success in previous years by dividing the panoramic in four distinct sections, each different but complementary.
Ten days of intense cultural activities and sports make this summer a review of the first order, a prestigious appointment with the best of world cinema in Valtournenche Breuil-Cervinia.

Since its first edition in 1998, the exhibition puts the focus of their research exploration, adventure and love for the mountains, with films that are more and more outlets in the national cinema market. Like every year a forest of interesting titles dedicated to wilderness and mountains, but also to the environmental problem, with the presence of topics and different joints. The mountain is the true protagonist of the event but also the "pretext" to address issues closely related to it: the environment, climate, adventure, sport, culture and history. The event was created with the intention and ambition to promote and disseminate the film hard to find in the canons and circuits that are distinguished for their research, quality and innovation. The contribution it has made in the landscape of film festivals has been affectionately dubbed by the press the Oscar Film mountain. The films are selected in international festivals of its kind and is among those awarded the Grand Prix - Conseil de La Vallée.The objectives which is the twelfth edition of the Matterhorn CineMountain are different but all converge in the will to do a demonstration of quality that identifies with the land in a real - that is respectful of its peculiarities - and able to accommodate other traditions and new trends. Ten days of intense cultural activities and sports make this exhibition - by Luisa codiretta Montrosset and Luca Bich, chaired by Antonio Carrel, historical guide of the Matterhorn - a summer event to this city. The organization is organized by the Municipality of Valtournenche and by the Cultural Routes of Cinema in collaboration with the Presidency of the Regional Council of Aosta Valley and the support of the Tourist Board, Sport, Commerce and Transport of the Autonomous Region of Valle d ' aosta, Fondazione CRT, Compagnia di San Paolo, Cai, CVA, Cervino Spa, The North Face, Iveco, Ski School of the Matterhorn, Company of the guides of the Matterhorn, Grivel. - The sections of the Festival --

CERVINIA MON AMOUR

The art of pyrotechnics means for breaking or opening - "sfunno" or "expulsion" in Neapolitan dialect - what happens when the "bomb draft" reached a certain height you open or break or browse, expelling all its components-bombs, or seal in color. A similar and crackling effect will be to "Cervinia Mon Amour," which opens this twelfth edition of the festival with a bouquet of events of great variety. Continuing the search for the genius loci of Breuil started last year, we wanted to explore further in the history of skiing. And then let the Avalanche Blue epiphenomenon of the history of Italian and international sci. Do not hide our satisfaction to be able to assemble in the hall of the Cinéma des Guides champions Gustav Thoeni, Piero Gros, Franco Bieler, Paolo De Chiesa, Tino Pietrogiovanna, Herbert Plank, Helmut Schmalzl, Erwin Stricker. Certainly one could not imagine a better parterre to celebrate, in collaboration with the Cervino Spa, the 70 years of the cable car to Plateau Rosa.Remembering this anniversary as part of the Festival, the Cervino Spa not only emphasizes how its ropeways represent a remarkable example of highly engineered, but makes them a heritage to be shared with the community and guests, saying as the historical dimension. Symbolically, then, will be the cable car to transport us on the ski slopes, where that group of skiers we had wonderful dreams. Through evocations, testimonies, filmed contributions, all cleverly orchestrated by a professional as safe Carlo Gobbo, we relive the best moments of the Avalanche Blue. And how can we not ask these great champions to leave their mark in the continuity of the street skiing inaugurated last year by Toni Sailer and Giuliana Minuzzo. The ceremony dell'orma then be repeated the next day at noon sharp at the Café des Guides. The second day of Cervinia Mon Amour "will go on line and come in time, a sort of" passafuoco "that binds the many events that will close this section.Dell'Xtrail presentation, a way to account not only of the initiatives in the territory but also to squeeze the eye to the new practice will follow, almost creating a short circuit, the editorial presentation of the book "Tales of the Hut" by Professor . John Zanetti (event in collaboration with the Regional Council). It will be a moment of reflection on the symbol of alpinism topical as the Carrel hut thanks to the participation of authorities and witnesses and important to the local culture. A publication which clearly this introduces the idea of mountaineering that will be the fulcrum around will compare the guests of the evening "Alpine from the Matterhorn to Cervinia. Simultaneously, other short circuit, will be the urban structure of Breuil-Cervinia to be a sort of pitch for the participants to the "Contest StreetBoulder higher than ever." Do not miss the music, either during the day - thanks to the duo Grappeggia-Pino - either for the Bianconiglio Around Midnight.

ANTROPOMOUNT

A special section of this year to AntropoMount Atlas dedicated to the people.Special because of the diversity of their subject. The Atlas or Atlas is primarily a polysemic term, the name of the mythological Titan condemned by Zeus to support the heavens until the end of time has been adopted to describe both the geographical atlas, is the massive North African and finally, according to its 'eTime greek means that support, the first cervical vertebra, which supports all of the skull. In addition it is said that before the invasion of Roman Greece, the name Atlas actually designate the Caucasus and that only later had to give the North African mountain barrier. The Atlas is, as it were a mountain migrant between Europe and Africa. The polysemy seems to repeat in the African Atlas is divided into a number of Atlas. Between the High Atlas, the Atlas and the ancient Middle-Atlas with varying heights ranging from 4167 m. Jdel the Moroccan Atlas Toubkal nell'Alto to 1544 m. Djebel Chambi the backbone of Tunisia. No surprise then that not only is this massive transnational spread throughout the Maghreb through three states - Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia - but mostly the people who live there, the Berbers or imazighen, we refer to a distinctive culture that transcends the borders between countries . How to do so to give an account of this diversity cultural-territorial? It is said that the best way to know a country is to go chez l'habitant, and that he wanted to be our choice. The pyramid is again part of the house offering an evocation of the Berber intérieur in a popular as the collection of roses and the holiday that celebrates it: the shots from 'The Valley Roses "by Andrea Alborno fact they live in the walls . As for the section of visual anthropology will be a tribute in particular to the director Ivan Boccara, himself a native of these lands. In different ways will also address the question of identity tied to the mountain with the presentation of the book by prof. Annibale Salsa and the theatrical show "Sons of the children" in care of the cultural workforce. The two evenings later, as well as allow us to taste the authentic flavors of North African cuisine, thanks to collaboration with the foreign women Les Rayons de Soleil, propose two events not to be missed. In the early evening 'traditional identity and immigrant identity "will be the theme of a thought that specialists in the world and visual anthropology developed by means of images, movies-in particular the document on Moroccans working in pastures valdostani produced in collaboration with the DAMS in Turin, publications and testimonials. The second evening, which has three different points in time will be devoted to music. First of all thanks to Professor Tran Quang Hai, ethnomusicology of international renown, will be introduced to the world through an exciting dell'etnomusicologia anthology about sound. The evening then continues with two concerts: one of the "Global Gnawa originaires of Morocco that will allow us to immerse ourselves in Berber sounds and then, because of Atlas is considered the door of it will end with the whole of Africa un'omaggio thanks to the intense sounds of Kassama Percussions of Burkina Faso.

ESPACE MONTAGNE
A number of areas that are intertwined, that's how this year is the Espace Montagne organized with alternating environments for function and aesthetics. Re-appreciated library specializes in publishing mountain, thanks to whom the book has done its job, will satisfy fans as well that the curious. In addition to the library habitués find the pyramid, where a Member of AntropoMount: space, as we know, dedicated all'Atlas, its people, its traditions.
Around these two points will take place, thanks to the expert dell'Assessorato Agriculture and Forestry, a real 'espace de la montagne. " In fact, in space and time, more thematic XII of this edition, will be recreated environments of medium and high altitudes. This is not to revive what some would be easy to step out of the multipurpose center. It is rather to focus distances altimetriche in small spaces as well as a compression of the ideal variety of the mountain. With this we try to give body to a reflection sull'orogenesi and its geomorphological incontornabile imprint. But the path we are proposing goes beyond. The orogenesi, in fact, is the Earth and other planets in the same way. This theme treat the panels of the exhibition "The Mountains of the planets of the solar system" that has given us the Fort of Bard, but it will be explained more clearly in the conference by the eponymous Dr. Bernagozzi in collaboration with the Osservatorio Astronomico della Valle d'Aosta for the International Year dell'Astronomia 2009. So we find the Mount Olympus with its variable height which becomes the graphic element of our T-shirt "informative." Several initiatives are taking place in this space in progress. Two outstanding interviews vertical, so happens, both under the sign of the "Genesis". Will be tested a new formula, that of the editorial with a vertical face to face between two writers and two climbers. And editorial meetings with authors and / or publishers. One place, therefore, that dell'Espace Mountains, not only to see and visit, but especially to detect and attend as we attended a house where everyone feels welcome, growing friendships, become new encounters.

FILM COMPETITION

The competition film is the true heart of the festival. The screenings of films in competition will play for six of the ten days in total rhythm of the festival time dell'Espace Mountains where mountain climbers and filmmakers can meet and converse with the public. Needless to point out that the 31 films in competition are the result of a year's work of selection.
Other film festivals in the area, contacts with the directors, personal, alternative routes, so many are the sources from which to draw artistic direction that would probably have in the drawer at least as many films for a competition parallel. In other words, the choice is never granted. The new production has seen an increased interest for life in the mountains or the docufiction compared to classic documentaries about mountaineering companies. This variety is more related to the themes that the genre:Several anthropological film cut - both re-enactments of past life, as alternative options in the era of globalization -, mountaineering is not then treated exclusively through the idea of performance, but intended more as a lifestyle choice. In a case like the other is a strong tendency to portrait. Will, however, the pure sport and even the eco-environment. The latter theme, however, which will be re-established a prize sought by the Regional Environment and Territory. Not so easy task for the jury to draw the short list of award-winning film. We trust, however, in absolute complementarity of expertise of its members: the vast knowledge of Amanda Sandrelli dell 's film, the remarkable mountaineering curriculum di Luca Maspes and Jean Troillet, the indubitable filmography culture of Françoise Foucault, whose presence is welcome so that seals the most valuable partnership with the Comité du film Ethnographique du Musée de l'Homme in Paris, and finally the long experience of Joan Salarichthe direction of the festival of mountain films of Torello. Here are the awards that will herald an intense time for all filmmakers, jurors and the public. Numerous awards in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of the Valle d'Aosta.
Other awards involve the CAI and the local community as the ski school of the consortium Breuil and hoteliers.

Argentera

Argentera
