Cervino SpA
A record winter season for the company that manages the cableways on the Italian side of the Cervino Ski Paradise ended on May 1st. A winter that marked the restart of winter sports with new rules, not tested before and in which the Breuil-Cervinia area had to act as a "trailblazer", being the first large area in the Alps to open the winter season.

A particular winter season, therefore, in which in addition to the limitations due to the pandemic, the entire Alpine arc had to deal with so little snow that it put many ski areas in crisis. Thanks to the altitude of its slopes, which from 2’050 meters in Breuil-Cervinia go up to 3’800, the Cervino Ski Paradise was able to complete the season regularly, recording record numbers. The 867,000 first entries generated a turnover of Euro 33,633,000, even higher than that of an excellent season like 2018/19, which recorded a turnover of Euro 31'587'000.
In the second part of the season, the slopes of Cervinia hosted numerous events, from the gathering on the snow for bike enthusiasts of the Cervino Snow Bike Show (19 March), to the renewed Reine Blanche, which this year was able to boast the name sponsors RedBull.
To close the winter, in the last weekend of activities, the first edition of MTV Snowball Cervinia (April 30) which, under a heavy snowfall, entertained the people of skiers with DJ sets and electronic music by Benny Benassi , Merk & Kremont and NAVA.
On May 1st, the season ended with a goliardic party atmosphere and the Swimwear Ski Parade, which brought 300 daredevils in swimsuits to face the descent on the slope that from Plan Maison leads to Breuil-Cervinia. A final act in a seaside way that represented the passing of the baton to the summer season. on 25 June the lifts on the Italian side of the area will reopen with the possibility of accessing summer skiing on the Zermatt / Plateau Rosa glacier, which will remain open until 25 June with access from the Swiss side.
