Four international events in two years: Cogne the home of Nordic skiing

On February 16th and 17th the Cross-Country World Cup will be back in the Aosta Valley, which in 2020 will also host the World Masters Championships.

Four international events in a two-year period. Cogne returns to marry high-level Nordic skiing and for the next two winters will have a great deal to do. Land of sport, land of competition and great slopes, immersed in the nature and beauty of the Gran Paradiso National Park. There, on the Prati di Sant'Orso, now covered with snow, the spotlights will come on. In less than 60 days Cogne will return to host the Cross-Country World Cup, on a date that has long been strategic. The small locality of the equally small Valle d'Aosta will welcome the great ski champions on 16 and 17 February, a few days before the start of the World Championships in Seefeld. The sprint race in free technique and the individual men and women will be the last test for the races. Cogne will be the last stop before the event of the year, for this reason many national teams are already planning their stay in Valle d'Aosta to finish the last details. The World Cup, which was missing in Cogne since 2006, will certainly be the most important event, but not the first in chronological order. From 1 to 3 February, the community that carries on sport, culture, history and tradition in the Gran Paradiso National Park will be on track for a race in the race. The organizational machine will test its efficiency in the 38th edition of the MarciaGranParadiso (and MiniMarcia), a historic 'marathon' that every year attracts thousands of agonists, amateurs and former champions and who is part of the Euroloppet circuit. Not only that, the traditional Sunday race, this year also valid as a test of the Italian Cup, will be anticipated by the Italian Absolute Championships. On 1 and 2 February the medals of the Sprint and the Individual will be awarded. Three days of testing for the technical staff, three days of training for Italian athletes who will then receive the call for the World Cup. Winter 2020 will be no less demanding for Cogne Events, the organizing committee set up at the end of summer, which also includes, among others, the 1994 Lillehammer Olympic champion Marco Albarello, and Enzo Macor, technical director of the competitions in Val di Fiemme . The first days of February will return the 2020 edition of MarciaGranParadiso, but in March there will be the big event. For the first time Cogne will host the World Championships Master of Nordic skiing, another event that will light the spotlight and that will bring hundreds of athletes at the foot of the Gran Paradiso. Because Cogne decided once again to marry the combination of tourism and high-level sports. The men of Cogne Events in these months are running on all fronts to be ready for the now imminent first two appointments. Under the Christmas tree, the organizers have found some partners who have chosen to add their name to that of Cogne. Among the most important is Vibram, for over 80 years a world leader in the production of high performance rubber soles. It will be in Cogne with the Vibram Sole Factor Mobile Lab, an authentic workshop on wheels on which it will be possible to discover and test in person the Vibram Arctic Grip technology, the 'all rubber' solution developed to optimize the grip on wet ice without the help of metal elements (such as nails). Not only tests, for those interested it will be possible to customize their footwear directly on site, through a sophisticated resolving operation that will be carried out by the shoemakers present. Alpigas, a company of the Autogas Group that has been a leader in the LPG sector for over 60 years and today a multi-utility dynamic with a complete offer in all energy sectors, has chosen to support the Cogne World Cup to participate in community initiatives, promote values and strengthen relations on the territory. Alpigas, headquartered in Aosta, has been a leader in the Valley since 1973 and meets all energy needs: LPG, electricity, gas, energy efficiency with the brands AGNLuce, AGNGas, AGNE², AGNSolar and AGNe-DRIVE. From the Ski World Cup to the F1 Grand Prix of Singapore, passing through public administrations and first aid agencies. Saitel since 1977 provides technicians and designers to meet the multiple needs in the field of telecommunications. Coverage of outdoor and indoor areas, public and private professional radio network, tunnel radio and mines. The Milanese company will be in Cogne to allow the staff to always stay in close contact. Energiapura, well known in alpine skiing, has chosen to start a new adventure alongside the organization of the four events dedicated to skiing. A line of personalized technical clothing, captivating design and extravagant ideas are the three strong points of the Vicenza company that for years has supported national and international events and, in the Valle d'Aosta area, the Memorial Fosson. A technical partner who will dress the staff. There will be many other institutional sponsors, gold and silver that will give their support and contribution to Cogne Events. These include the Banca Cooperativo Valdostanada, always close to the sportsmen, Sitrasb Spa, the company that manages the Gran San Bernardo tunnel, Suez Purifiers, present worldwide to protect the environment and water, the Consorzio Produttori e tutela DOP Fontina, the AVDA, the Aosta airport which in the summer proposed flights to Olbia and Munich and is studying other destinations; Antica Drogheria del Castellodi Rome which operates in the food trade and has been managed by the Massari family for over a century. And then Rigo, a company of Olgiate Olona (Varese) specialized since 1944 in the production of equipment and accessories for spray painting with HVLP and LVLP system and guns for the application of 1KPU polyurethane foam exported to 60 countries around the world. In the last few hours, confirmation was also received from Elle Erre, a company from Bergamo that proposes the printing of advertising and promotional materials, already at the side of the Tor des Géants. In Cogne, the pieces are finding the right place. The managers of the areas in collaboration with a dense network of volunteers work at a rapid pace. February is around the corner and the World Ski Party is about to return. After an absence lasted thirteen years.
