"Salviamo il Corno alle Scale" is the event that was held yesterday, September 20, with the presence of more than 150 environmentalists who gathered to protest against the project that involves the construction of a new six-seater chairlift with automatic detachable the "Le Polle" car park with the Scaffaiolo Lake refuge.
A work that would cost about 7 million euros plus demolition and renaturation costs not yet quantified, to dismantle an existing, functioning chairlift and build another on the same route but extended by 200 meters towards Lake Scaffaiolo. Public funds that according to the Greens could be used to adapt existing facilities and promote winter tourism in the mountains.
"The project involves the demolition of the Direttissima four-seater chairlift and the Cupolino ski lift. The Direttissima chairlift has just obtained its life extension in 2019 and is therefore perfectly efficient, the ski lift has not been in operation for several years. There is an alternative to project presented: renovate the existing one, invest in a widespread way in an attractive environmental tourism in all seasons, build a training center on the mountain that touches all disciplines and is aimed in particular at young people from schools in the Reno Valley ”, says Legambiente.
