Freeride Challenge Punta Nera in Cortina d'' Ampezzo. From April 3 to 5

In Cortina d'Ampezzo and the ski area Faloria is all set for a weekend of skiing off piste with the Freeride Challenge Punta Nera, which starts this year in its 5th edition. The event aims to involve more aspects of sports and being in the mountains, offering a mix of freeride, ski mountaineering and climbing, addressing an audience of professionals and amateurs, including even the youngest with a race for them.

As every year, the dates have been set for the first weekend in April, ie 3, 4 and 5 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), with possible Sunday 6th day of recovery. Thursday, April 3rd will be the Safe Day: the cable car Faloria there will be stands of Mountain Rescue, the Guardia di Finanza and Carabinieri who will explain the new techniques of relief and recovery in winter environment. There will also be numerous booths of industry leaders freeride and touring with the testing of new materials. In the evening, always on the slopes of Faloria, will host the race touring by night "Skialp Squirrels", an event open to all. The evening will continue with music and prizes at the shelter. Friday, April 4 in the morning it will be time to engage kids in the Junior Freeride Puntanera, the only Italian freeski contest is open to minors. Concomitantly, in Cortina d'Ampezzo will take place on Vertical Combined Marco da Pozzo, a race or climbing on boulders open to all. At the end of the event will reward the boys and the winners of the competition bouldering. Saturday, April 5th will be the day instead of the Freeride Challenge Punta Nera, race symbol of view of Cortina and event highlight of the event. From the top of Punta Nera riders will descend among rocks, snow and cliff to the coveted trophy. Following lunch, concert and awards ceremony at the shelter Faloria. The Vertical Combined Marco Da Pozzo is a trophy named after a mountain climber in the area failed a few years ago.
