The tour of the great war on skis

The Great War ski tour is one of the most spectacular ski tours in the Dolomites and owes its name to the fact that it crosses the places that saw Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers fight against each other in the First World War. It winds along a path that in winter can be done all in one day: ski buses, slopes and lifts create a ring that touches Passo Giau, Passo Falzarego, Val Badia, Arabba and Alleghe, turning all around the Col di Wool. At 5 Torri you can see the Italian trenches. From the terrace of the refuges you can admire the splendid views of the Col di Lana, the Tofana di Rozes, the Castelletto and Col dei Bos. At the Falzarego Pass, take the cable car up to the Lagazuoi, to reach the highest point of the tour, almost 2800 meters. From the cabin of the cable car you can see the slits of the Italian mine tunnel and the Tre Sassi Fort on the road to Passo Valparola. On the crest of the Piccolo Lagazuoi is the Austrian station Feldwache 4, the only station on the first line that can be reached by skis. As soon as you enter the slope at the arrival of the Lagazuoi cable car, turn right following the signs. This position is carved into the crest called Muraglia Rocciosa, a wall of rock fortified by the Austro-Hungarians in defense of the Forcella Lagazuoi with two armored positions for machine guns and two slits for observers in the direction of Col dei Bos and Castelletto. Today it houses a replica of the Schwarzlose machine gun. On the west side of the ridge you can see the niches carved into the rock that housed the Austro-Hungarian barracks. Our skier Erica in the video wears GOLDWIN ALBIREO JACKET and ALBIREO BONDING PANTS, which you can see in the following photos:
