The "Challenge" program foresees that in order to become part of the Club it is necessary to overcome exactly 8848 meters in altitude. To win the challenge, all participants will have to make 11 descents from the Lagalb in a single day (on skis, snowboard, telemark or freeride) and make four climbs on foot from the station to the top of Piz Lagalb.
The challenge can be completed throughout the entire winter season and can even be undertaken several times.
The registration fee is 10 Swiss francs and includes the “challenge kit” (track map, lanyard, bracelet), energy bar and membership of Club 8848 as a member for one year. At the end of the season, the names of the new members will be placed on the members' scoreboard.
Lagalb is one of the destinations par excellence for winter sports enthusiasts who are looking for less-frequented challenging slopes. Here you can ski on the steepest black run in the canton of Graubünden. The descent on the snowfield «La Rösa», without signs, is very popular and is suitable for expert hikers who are able to assess the danger of avalanches.
At the top of the Lagalb cable car there is a restaurant with typical Swiss cuisine and a sun terrace from which you can enjoy a view that sweeps from Lake Bianco to Valtellina. Also in the valley station, there is a small and cozy refreshment point with a terrace where you can take a break between skiing.

Mottarone
Il Mottarone, alto 1.492 metri, sorge in una posizione privilegiata tra il Lago Maggiore e il Lago d’Orta. La sua vetta arrotondata è uno dei balconi panoramici più spettacolari del Piemonte: nelle giornate limpide lo sguardo abbraccia sette laghi, la Pianura Padana e gran parte dell’arco alpino, dal Monviso al Monte Rosa fino alle montagne svizzere. Questa cornice, più che le dimensioni del comprensorio, rappresenta il vero elemento distintivo della località.
