The 2019-2020 winter season is about to begin and the mountain resorts are preparing for seasonal openings. Many stations decide to start the winter period with special events; in Crans-Montana the first edition of the Etoile Bella Lui Festival will take place.

Inspired by the fairy tale "The Shepherd and the Stella Bella Lui", from 6 December 2019 to 5 January 2020, the star Bella Lui illuminates the Fiestas with a festival dedicated to the magic of winter in the mountains:
Fairy tales, a 33-meter high Ferris wheel, ice sculptures, fashion shows, fire shows, or sand art, a great ice show, without forgetting the various gospel concerts or talented artists, an illuminated spruce, the arrival of Santa Claus: the festival promises to amaze and entertain young and old.
In the city center, the Ferris wheel village, which will officially open its doors at 16:00 on December 6th.
The village offers a welcoming central bar, a dozen chalets managed by retailers in the destination, a tempered dome for warming up, as well as the Sporting restaurant which proposes tasting a fondue in a space decorated for the occasion. The event will also be attended by artisans from the region, who will give visitors some ideas for Christmas presents.
Also returns - after the success in the past season - the lantern trail. The Jack Nicklaus fairy golf walk will connect, this winter, the two most famous lakes in the resort, the Moubra in Montana and the Etang Long in Crans and will officially open on December 7th at 6:00 pm.
Furthermore, in the first two wee-ends of the festival, the best chefs in the town - in collaboration with a winemaker from the area - will offer delicious, frozen, original or surprising suggestions along the Rue du Prado.
Finally, Piazza Scandia will become the Piazza dell'Aperitivo, where you can drink a hot chocolate, a mulled wine or a fendant and share a Valais dish or a good raclette.
