The event today with the press and several champions of Italian sports has begun the season of cross-country skiing in Livigno. Waiting for the winter and stiffer temperatures that would allow for artificial snow, the track was prepared with the snow collected in the past season and retained with Snow Farming technology. This technique allows the preservation of snow in any weather conditions thanks to the protection of geothermal and sawdust layers.
This morning the track was the sprint world championship training venue in Lahti 2017 Federico Pellegrino, who said: "I also came last year and Livigno brought me luck, since I then won two World Cup medals. in the morning I did a good two hour training and I will also train in the afternoon. It is the only track in Italy already open since October, a great advantage to be able to train with winter snow without going into the glacier. "
In November, the biathlon polygon will also open, and the mileage of snow-covered runs will likely increase. Livigno Tourist Board Chairman Luca Moretti also revealed that he is working on a nomination to host the Alpine Ski World Cup. The goal of the city and the city administration is clear, investing in sport, 360 degrees, then having a return to tourism and visibility. These are the words of Deputy Mayor Remo Galli: "Livigno is increasingly proposed as a City of Sport, an ideal place for training in the highlands."
The ceremony was also illuminated by another star of Italian sports, the 200th World Champion in Budapest 2017, Federica Pellegrini. Along with her there were other famous names and medals of the Italian swimming team, Luca Dotto, Simone Sabbioni, Luca Pizzini, Simona Quadratella.
The next appointment for all cross country skiing enthusiasts in Livigno will be December 2 with La Sgambeda, this year at the Visma Ski Classics circuit.
