A spring that had not ever seen. Indeed, perhaps this year, spring there really never was.

But there is a bright side: Thanks to the large amount of snow that fell on the Alps and that still persists even at the Monte Moro, this year there will be a special opening. An unmissable event with which Macugnaga becomes the second place, after Cortina, who unexpectedly opens summer skiing.
During the weekend of 6-7 July will be possible to ski on the track San Pietro from 8.00 am to 12.00 am only the price of round trip Macugnaga Monte Moro adults € 17 - € 11 children aged 4 to 14 years.
The track St. Peter reaches an altitude of 2868 meters and offers amazing views of the east face of Monte Rosa, offering a panorama of Himalayan flavor right on our Alps.
Here summer skiing at one time was normal. The snowfield in summer also allowed to ski free. Then, the complicity of the high temperatures, low snowfall winter and the withdrawal of snowfields and glaciers, the situation changed. The spring 2013 has revived the glaciers and snow in the mountains. Perhaps a first signal to a return to heavy snowfall and a reversal on the retreat of the glaciers.

Chiesa Valmalenco
La Valmalenco offre uno dei comprensori sciistici più panoramici della Valtellina, sviluppato principalmente nella conca dell’Alpe Palù e circondato dalle grandi montagne del gruppo del Bernina. Boschi di conifere, ampi pendii in quota e il lago Palù compongono un ambiente alpino ancora relativamente integro, con vedute che spaziano verso il Pizzo Scalino, il Monte Disgrazia e le cime che separano la valle dall’Engadina.
