Madonna di Campiglio, inauguration of the new Fortini-Pradalago cable car

The Minister of Tourism, Massimo Garavaglia, was also present at the cutting of the ribbon. The cable car replaces the previous four-seater chairlift.

On Saturday 22 January the new Fortini-Pradalago cable car was inaugurated in Madonna di Campiglio, active since last December. The Minister of Tourism, Massimo Garavaglia, also took part in the ceremony, coordinated by the general manager of Funivie Madonna di Campiglio Bruno Felicetti. It was, therefore, an opportunity to discuss issues such as the most current issues of the white mountain. At the end of the year, the government refreshments to limit the debts accumulated by the plant engineering companies during the long months of closure, the difficulty of recognizing the greenpass of guests coming from abroad now hangs over the continuation of the ski season. The provincial councilor for tourism, Roberto Failoni, estimated that from 1 February next, up to 150 thousand tourists from Poland could be missing in the tourist resorts of Trentino. The problem was explained in detail to the Minister and delegated by the Trentino tourism system to the Government. The Fortini-Pradalgo cable car is a new and ultra-modern 10-seater ski lift that improves the integration between the Fortini area and that of Grosté and, at the same time, decongests, especially in the late afternoon hours, a particularly significant junction for the entire ski area. The lift replaces the old four-seater chairlift built in 2000 and allows skiers from Folgarida Marilleva and Pinzolo, after a wonderful day of skiing on the slopes of Madonna di Campiglio, to return more comfortably to their localities. The gondola lift, built by the Doppelmayr company, has a low energy impact and guarantees limited noise emissions, less vibrations and greater efficiency. The internal heating system makes the panoramic ascent to Pradalago particularly comfortable. The plant has a flow rate of 3,600 people / hour and a speed of 6 meters / second; spread over a length of 2,432 meters and a vertical drop of 456 meters. "We are proud to have created a state-of-the-art cableway system for the comfort and safety offered to users and for the operating modes managed by our operators - began the president of Funivie Madonna di Campiglio Sergio Collini - Every detail is remotely controlled with the possibility of immediately intercepting any anomaly and intervening in real time. "Like all new ski lifts, one of the strengths is the concept of capacity. The Fortini-Pradalago cable car can carry up to 3,600 people per hour, avoiding queues at boarding even on the busiest days. An "added value", this, in respect of the distancing imposed by the anti Covid measures. Three, the guiding words of this project according to President Collini: "the courage, to carefully evaluate the present and then to assume the entrepreneurial risk; trust, towards a better future and a return to normality; finally, the sense of responsibility , to take risks and to do for the benefit of the whole territory ". The Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia, during the ceremony, then wanted to launch a message of trust for tourism. "I want to thank all the operators in the sector through the Campiglio cableways because it takes courage to make investments and not just resilience, because we want to do better than before. We too had the courage with the 800 million from the mountain fund to get to resources to the sector, which counts on 2,000 operators in the cableway sector, quickly. Now we have to look further: what arrives from Campiglio today is a positive and trusting sign. There is this damned virus, but we can live with it . The hope is that in the future there will be a great return of all the tourists who were there in the pre-pandemic years ". "The investment in the new cable car - underlined Roberto Failoni, the Tourism Councilor of the Autonomous Province of Trento - represents a sign of great vitality in the winter tourism sector and in the cableways sector in particular. of the Campiglio cable cars are even more important in a difficult context such as that due to the pandemic because they indicate the will to overcome this phase and to look to the future with confidence. The data of the winter tourist season, although far from pre-pandemic records, the confirmation that the Trentino of snow is attractive and capable of going beyond adversity. It is a pride to see what Trentino can do in this difficult phase ".
