The project for the new cable car that would replace the four-seater chairlift that from Prà Rodont reaches the top of the Doss del Sabion was presented. Authorizations are now awaited for the construction of the plant.

On Sunday 18 September the shareholders' meeting of Funivie Pinzolo Spa was held at the PalaDolomiti with the approval of the financial statements closed on 30 April 2022 on the agenda.
During the meeting, great interest was reserved for the presentation of future projects. The project that will see the light first is that of the new cable car which will replace the 4-seater chairlift. The general principles that have "guided" the company in the design of this investment concern the general (environmental and landscape) redevelopment of the areas, the enhancement of naturalistic presence and geological signs, the development of architectural integration and a project that integrates with the current and future projects.
The new plant, which will be built in the window that runs from April to November 2023, will cover the difference in height of almost 600 m for a length of 1,650 m, in about 4 and a half minutes at an operating speed of 6.00 m / s. The hourly capacity will be 2,800 p / h compared to the current 1,700 p / h, on comfortable panoramic cable cars with 10 seats (with internal ski rack).
It would be a completely integrated system in the natural environment of the Brenta Dolomites, with both underground stations: the valley station is "wedged" between the current arrival station of the Pinzolo cable car and the Prà Rodont refuge, while the mountain station is positioned on the current site of the chairlift but in a completely underground form. Upstream there will also be a service platform intended, in addition to the landing of the new cable car, to accommodate a panoramic point overhanging the valley and a cultural corner for enhancing the geological themes characteristic of the project.
The redevelopment of the Doss del Sabion refuge will be consistent with the general principles of the main project and will “dialogue” with the new cableway system and the new spaces of the service structure, both on horizontal and verifying connections.
The vision of Prà Rodont 2.0 was also presented to the public present at the PalaDolomiti in Pinzolo. The prospect of being able to replace the current cable car that rises from the town of Pinzolo will allow a natural integration of the two completely underground stations (arrival of the refurbishment of the cable car from Pinzolo and departure of the new Prà Rodont - Doss del Sabion cable car) and the redevelopment of the entire valley area with the insertion of the new departure station, the new underground parking and the enhancement of the appurtenant areas of the church of San Vigilio in light of the advent of the new ring road.
Now we wait for the authorization process to be completed in order to proceed with the construction of the new ski lift.
