The Councilor for Crafts, Commerce, Promotion, Sport and Tourism of the Autonomous Province of Trento. Roberto Failoni, announced that from the in-depth studies received in the last few hours with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, the possibility for the Province of being able to access specific ministerial funding for rapid mass transport, including cableway systems, has been confirmed. citizens. Thanks to this fund, the Province was entitled to present as its own intervention the construction of the cableway connection between Trento and Monte Bondone for an amount of approximately 35 million euros.
"This is a great opportunity for Trento and for the whole of Trentino which gives strength to the recent protocol signed between the Province and the Municipality of Trento which provides for the construction of the cableway connection through the project, a public-private partnership that will not only the plant but also other complementary works such as the settlement parking lot "explains Councilor Roberto Failoni.
"Thanks to the work of the public part - in the event of a positive evaluation by the Ministry - the new cableway connection will be able to make use of an important public contribution on the investment costs, while always within the maximum limit set by the legislation on PPP, namely 49 %. We now expect a significant response from the private world. In this way, it will be possible to give light to a long-awaited work, capable of giving added value to Trento and its mountains from the point of view of livability, tourism and accessibility "concludes Roberto Failoni.
There are three hypotheses on the table for the Trento-Monte Bondone connection: a gondola, a three-rope system or a funifor plus a gondola that lead to Vason. We will try to present the project by the end of August.
