Murmeltier, Monterosa Ski’s new toboggan run brings fun for the whole family.

The 2025-2026 winter season at Monterosa Ski is officially in full swing, with a major new feature that goes beyond traditional skiing: the brand-new Murmeltier toboggan run, inaugurated on 5 January 2026 in Staffal, in the heart of the Gressoney-La-Trinité Valley.

Designed to expand the resort’s outdoor offering and appeal to an ever-wider audience, Murmeltier – evocatively meaning “marmot” in the local dialect – is an important new attraction for snow lovers and those seeking fun descents who do not necessarily ski or snowboard.

A run accessible to everyone

The Murmeltier toboggan run extends for 550 metres of descent, perfect for families, children and groups of friends looking for thrills in the snow. The route is served by the Moos chairlift, which makes it easy to reach the starting point, and has been designed to be safe, fun and suitable even for less experienced users.

One of the features that makes the run particularly appealing is its lighting for evening descents: every Wednesday and Saturday evening until 7:30 p.m., enthusiasts can enjoy a night-time toboggan ride amid lights, atmosphere and evocative Alpine scenery.

Practical information

Murmeltier is open every day from 2:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Access is available by purchasing a ticket valid for multiple descents: for example, 5 rides for €12 or 10 rides for €20.
Toboggans (single- and two-seater) are provided with the purchase of the ticket, while the mandatory helmet must be brought from home.

This introduction represents not only an additional opportunity for those visiting the valley in winter, but also a way to enrich the 360° snow experience, offering an alternative activity to anyone who wants to have fun without skis on their feet.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
